On a Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Dsget.exe tool incorrectly displays the sAMAccountName attribute of a group object in Active Directory if the attribute contains a percent sign

Symptoms

On a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, the Dsget.exe tool incorrectly displays the sAMAccountName attribute of a group object in the Active Directory directory service if the attribute contains a percent sign (%).

For example, you run the following command at a command prompt:
dsget group "CN=group1%group2%rw,CN=Users,DC=<domain name>,DC=<domain name>" -samid
In this example, you query the sAMAccountName attribute of a group1%group2%rw group object. The actual value of the sAMAccountName attribute is group1%group2%rw. However, you receive the following output:
group19.7218e-309roup2rw
