FIX: Error message when you use BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 to process a SWIFT MT940 message: "CurrencyCode for tag 62F is not valid"

Symptoms

When you use Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 to process a SWIFT MT940 message, you may receive a SWIFT validation error message that resembles the following:

<ElementValue Value="FRF"/>
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 is installed on the computer.
  • BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 is installed on the computer.
  • BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is installed on the computer.
  • BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 Message Pack 2006 is installed on the computer.
  • In the SWIFT MT940 message, the <CurrencyCode> element is set to the FRF value.

This problem occurs because of a problem in the MT940 validation policy.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites

The following software must be installed before you apply this hotfix:
  • BizTalk Server 2006
  • BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 SP1
  • BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3 Message Pack 2006

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer. However, you must restart Internet Information Services (IIS) and the BizTalk Server services after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
