To use the Intel iSCSI Setup driver during Windows Server 2003 installation, use the Scsiport.sys driver that is included in the following hotfix.
If you want to build this hotfix into bootable installation media, you can extract the updated Scsiport.sys file from the hotfix package by using the
/x switch. Then, copy the extracted Scsiport.sys file into the Windows installation directory. The Scsiport.sys file does not have to be compressed. Instead, you can directly copy the file.
Then, use the Microsoft OEM Preinstall Kit (OPK) to prepare the bootable media. For more information, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Copy the Intel iSCSI Setup driver to a floppy disk. You can use this floppy disk during the installation process by pressing F6. The Intel iSCSI Setup driver package must include the following:
- A driver binary file
- An installation (.inf) file
- A Txtsetup.oem file
- A catalog file

Restart requirement
You must restart the computer if you apply this hotfix to an existing system. If you copy only the extracted Scsiport.sys file to the installation media, you do not have to restart the computer on which you extracted the Scsiport.sys file.
