An activity that you create for the entity of an opportunity does not appear in the Activities view in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. You create one of the following entities for an opportunity:
  • A quote
  • An order
  • An invoice
Then, you create an activity for the entity. Finally, you try to view the activity in the Activities view in the Opportunity page. In this scenario, the activity does not appear in the Activities view.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 3.

Installation information

Install this hotfix on computers that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 server software or the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client software.

Prerequisites

  • You must have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 installed to apply this hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000.

After you install this hotfix, an activity that you create for the entity of an opportunity will appear in the Activities view in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. However, the activity will not appear in the Activities view when you are offline in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Outlook. This behavior is by design.
