A user cannot view some child records after you share the parent record with the user in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. You share the child record of a parent record with a user. Then, you share the parent record with the same user. In this scenario, the user cannot view the other child records of the parent record.

For example, you have an account that contains two contacts and two opportunities. If you share a contact with a user, and you then share the account with the user, the user can view only the contact and the account. The user cannot view another contact or the opportunities.

This problem occurs if all the entity relationships use the default cascade settings.

Note This problem does not occur if you share the parent record first. For example, this problem does not occur if you share the account record with a user first.
