How to update Commerce Server 2007, Commerce Server 2009 and Commerce Server 2009 R2 for the changes to daylight saving time

This article describes how to update Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 and Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2 to reflect the changes to daylight saving time (DST) that occurred in many time zones in 2012. The DST changes affect only the Datawarehousing component of Commerce Server. If you are not using Data Warehouse, you do not have to apply this hotfix.

Many products have been changed to reflect the DST start date and end date that were established in 2012. These DST changes were made in the United States and other countries to comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites

You must have Commerce Server 2007 Service Pack 2 installed to apply the hotfix for Commerce Server 2007. There is no prerequisite to apply the hotfix for Commerce Server 2009 and Commerce Server 2009 R2.

Restart information

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Registry information

You do not have to change the registry.

Hotfix replacement information

You must uninstall the previous DST hotfix and then apply this new hotfix. Otherwise, this new hotfix is not applied.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
