How to configure two servers that are running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Cubes for Microsoft Dynamics GP

This article describes how to configure two servers that are running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Cubes for Microsoft Dynamics GP. The configuration that is described in this article is for a two-tier environment.

More Information

To configure the two servers, follow these steps:
  1. Open SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. Connect to the SQL Server Database Engine.
  3. In Object Explorer, expand the Server Objects node.
  4. Right-click Linked Servers, and then click New Linked Server.
  5. On the General page, type the name of one of the servers in the Linked server box.
  6. In the Server type list, select SQL Server.
  7. On the Security page, select Be made using this security context.
  8. In the Remote login box, type DynamicsUser, and then type the password in the With password box.
  9. Repeat steps 1 through 8 for the other server.
