Symptoms

When you use an .msi file to install a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form template on a Windows Vista-based computer, the installation may fail. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot create InfoPath.ExternalApplication object. Error code = 0x80080005.

Workaround

To work around this issue, open Windows Task Manager, stop any InfoPath process or Microsoft Outlook process, and then restart the installation.
