Error message when you start an application in SoftGrid: "The application took too long to be ready to interact with the User, possibly because the system was too busy"

Symptoms

When you start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client could not launch application_name.
The application took too long to be ready to interact with the User, possibly because the system was too busy. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please report the following error code to your system administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx04-0000041E
The application does not start.

Resolution

To troubleshoot this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Determine whether the .osd file contains information that is causing this problem. Examine the following items in the file:
    • The FILENAME attribute and its location
      If the application starts from the local disk or from a network location, verify that it can be accessed outside the SoftGrid Virtual Environment.
    • The PARAMETERS attribute
      Clear the contents of this attribute, and then restart the application.
    • The SCRIPTBODY element
      This is the child element of SCRIPT. Clear the contents of SCRIPTBODY, and then restart the application.
    • The WORKINGDIR element
      Clear the contents of the WORKINGDIR element, and then restart the application.
    • The HREF element
      The child element of SCRIPT. Clear the contents of the HREF element, and then restart the application.
  2. Determine whether the Settings.cp file contains information that is causing this problem. To do this, locate the %AppData%\SoftGrid Client\application_suite_name folder, rename the Settings.cp file to Settings.old, and then restart the application.
