Symptoms

You cannot synchronize your personal digital assistant (PDA) device to a desktop by using Microsoft ActiveSync if the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server firewall client is enabled.

Cause

This issue occurs if your PDA uses a 169. x . x . x IP address range. This address range is not part of the ISA Server internal network address range definition.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, add the 169. x . x . x IP address range that your PDA uses to the ISA Server Local Address Table (LAT).
