Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You have a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that has Windows Deployment Services (WDS) installed. Then, you configure a bind policy by using the following command:
WDSUTIL /set-server /BindPolicy /Add /address:IPaddress /addressType:IP
However, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
An error occurred while trying to execute the command.
Error Code: 0x2726
Error Description: An invalid argument was supplied.

Workaround

To work around this issue, configure the bind policy by using the MAC address instead of the IP address of the server. For example, use the following command:
WDSUTIL /set-server /BindPolicy /Add /address:MACaddress /addressType:MAC
