When you start Windows Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer exits immediately.

Cause

This problem may occur if the IEProxy.dll file is registered incorrectly.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, reregister the IEProxy.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Exit Internet Explorer 7 if it is running.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  3. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after you type each command.
    cd %programfiles%\Internet Explorer
    regsvr32 IEProxy.dll
    exit
  4. Start Internet Explorer 7.
