FIX: Message Queuing 3.0 still accepts incoming messages from the network after you successfully call the MSMQApplication.Disconnect method on a Windows Server 2003-based computer

After you successfully call the MSMQApplication.Disconnect method on a Windows Server 2003-based computer, Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0 still accepts incoming messages from the network.

This problem occurs because there is a delay between the time that you call the MSMQApplication.Disconnect method and the actual time that Message Queuing 3.0 stops accepting messages. This delay occurs under certain conditions.

1. Click Start , click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type FastDisconnect, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click FastDisconnect, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1 , and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This problem was corrected in Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
