Outlook exits unexpectedly when you click "Go Offline" in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Outlook

Symptoms

When you click Go Offline on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM toolbar in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Office Outlook exits unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that resembles the following error signature:
Application nameApplication versionModule nameModule versionOffset
Outlook.exe11.0.8010.0Crmaddin.dll3.0.5300.000059b71

Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Application log:
Source: "Microsoft Office 11"
Type: Error
Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Description: "Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8010.0, stamp 43d16d53, faulting module mshtml.dll, version 7.0.5730.11, stamp 45516526, debug? 0, fault address 0x0009ed44."
Note This problem occurs on computers on which Windows Internet Explorer 7 is installed.

Cause

This problem occurs if you click one of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM folders in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Outlook before you click Go Offline. For example, you click the Account folder before you click Go Offline.

This problem does not occur if you click one of the Microsoft Exchange Server folders.

Resolution

This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2.
