View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you create a Data Access Objects (DAO) workspace in a module in Microsoft Office Access 2007, you receive error messages that resemble the following:
Runtime error 3633: Can not load DLL
User-defined type not defined

Cause

This issue occurs because the DAO workspace uses Remote Data Objects (RDO) to pass data directly to Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) drivers. RDOs are not included as part of 2007 Microsoft Office systems because they are not supported in 2007 Office programs.
