Symptoms

When you try to attach a compressed file that has a .zip file name extension to an e-mail message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, the Insert button changes to Open. If you click the Open button, the button changes to Insert. Additionally, the .zip file does not attach, and the Insert File dialog box does not close.

Cause

This behavior may be intermittent. It is known to occur when WinZip 9 is installed on the computer.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, upgrade to WinZip 10.0 by WinZip Computing.
