View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you configure a service account for the Enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) service in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, the configuration fails. You may receive the following error messages:
The SSO service account ACCTDOMAIN\SSOSVC is not a member of the SSO Administrators account 'SVRDOMAIN\SSO-Admins-Test' and could not be added. (SSO)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: "Failed to add the user ACCTDOMAIN\SSOSVC to the domain group 'SVRDOMAIN\SSO-Admins-Test'. To add members to domain groups you must have sufficient permissions in the domain. (SSO) (0x000008AC) The group name could not be found."

Cause

If the logon account is not in the same domain as the SSO Administrators account, you will receive error messages, and the configuration will fail. This occurs when you use the logon account to configure BizTalk Server 2006.
