Symptoms

After you install Visual Studio Tools for Applications in Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 on an x64-based computer, you cannot find the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Remote Debugger shortcut in the Visual Studio Tools folder on the Start menu.

Cause

This problem occurs because the Visual Studio 2005 Remote Debugger is specific to x86-based computers. The Visual Studio 2005 Remote Debugger will not be installed on an x64-based computer.

Workaround

To work around this problem, use Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office System (VSTO) instead of Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA). You can run the Visual Studio 2005 Remote Debugger on an x64-based computer if you are using VSTO.
