Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:
  • You use the Send Direct E-mail functionality to send an e-mail message.
  • The subject line of this e-mail message contains one or more of the following special characters:
    • ampersand (&)
    • less than sign (<)
    • greater than sign (>)
    • quotation mark (")
In this scenario, the following HTML code is displayed instead of the special characters in the subject line of the e-mail message:
  • &amp;
  • &lt;
  • &gt;
  • &quot;
