If the media that you use for backup is full, the current behavior for the Ntbackup.exe tool is to display a message. This message warns you that the backup media is full. However, the Ntbackup.exe tool does not log any information about this situation. In some cases, this design causes difficulties when you want to monitor the backup process. You may have to check the backup media frequently to see whether the media has reached capacity.
After you apply this update on the computer, the Ntbackup.exe tool logs an event in the Application log if the backup media is full. You can monitor this event to track when the backup media that you use is full. The Application log event contains the following description:
