In Internet Explorer 6 or in Internet Explorer 8, the OnChange event in a field does not occur when you change the "�" character to "ss" characters, or when you change "ss" characters to the "�" character

In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or in Windows Internet Explorer 8, the OnChange event in a field does not occur if the following conditions are true:

• You create a Web form that has an <INPUT> field or a <TEXTAREA> field.
• You create an OnChange event in the <INPUT> field or in the <TEXTAREA> field.
• You change the "�" character to "ss" characters, or you change "ss" characters to the "�" character, in the <INPUT> field or in the <TEXTAREA> field.

This problem occurs because the string comparison of the MSHTML engine is based on the CompareString API. The CompareString API considers "ss" characters and the "�" character to be the same character.
