You can view the data of all system users when you click "Find Available Time" in the "Schedule Service Activity" dialog box in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. You have a security role whose privileges disable the organizational level access to system users. You try to schedule a service activity by using the Form Assistant in the Schedule Service Activity dialog box. In this scenario, when you click Find Available Time in the Schedule Service Activity dialog box, you can view the data of all system users.

Note In this scenario, if you have a security role whose privileges disable the organizational level access to equipment, you receive the following error message:
You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft CRM object.

Resolution

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

Installation information

By default this hotfix is disabled. To enable this hotfix, create a new registry key. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Exit Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0.
  2. On the server that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSCRM
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  5. Type CheckPrivilegesForResources, and then press ENTER.
  6. Right-click CheckPrivilegesForResources, and then click Modify.
  7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
Note After you enable this hotfix, a user can see only the resource groups for which the user has privileges from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM security role. Specifically, the user can see the resource group for the users. And, the user can see the resource group for the equipment for which the user has privileges.
