Symptoms

You open a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form in a browser. If the InfoPath 2007 form has an attached file, the browser may not display the file attachment.

Cause

Microsoft Outlook maintains a shared list of blacklisted file name extensions for the file attachment control. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server maintains a separate list of blacklisted file name extensions. This problem occurs because InfoPath 2007 uses the list that Outlook maintains. Therefore, some file types are permitted in InfoPath 2007, but not on the Office SharePoint server.

Status

This behavior is by design.

More information

To make sure that files that are attached to an InfoPath 2007 form are available when the form is opened in InfoPath 2007 or in the browser, synchronize the blacklisted file name extensions on the server and the Outlook file name extensions list.
