The computer may stop responding when you try to start an Itanium-based version of Windows Server 2003 in debug mode

When you try to start an Itanium-based version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 in debug mode, the computer may stop responding. The problem may occur if the computer has a checked kernel and is using 2 terabytes of RAM.

The problem occurs because the debug version of the following functions do not contain the correct volatile qualifier for the PushLock.Ptr API:

• ExReleasePushLockExclusive
• ExReleasePushLockShared
• ExReleasePushLockSharedAssumeSingleOwner
