An activity is not created when you click "New Activity" in the List Web Part for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Symptoms

You install the List Web Part for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. When you try to create an activity by clicking New Activity in the List Web Part, the activity is not created. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the Web browser:

Cause

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
You use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) to access the SharePoint Web site on which the List Web Part is configured.
You configured the List Web Part to use an FQDN as the Microsoft Dynamics CRM URL.
You configured the List Web Part to display activities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Resolution

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running the List Web Part, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spunist.exe utility to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running the List Web Part.

The Spuninst.exe tool is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB924293$\Spuninst folder.
