Cause

Mail sent to public folders may randomly NDR with following NDR:
From:   System Administrator  
Sent:   Wednesday, August 17, 2005 11:43 AM 
To:     xxxxxxx
Subject:        Undeliverable:Re: IAS Server 

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. 

      Subject:  Re: IAS Server 
      Sent:     8/17/2005 11:41 AM 

The following recipient(s) could not be reached: 

      Recipient on 8/17/2005 11:43 AM 
            The e-mail address could not be found.  Perhaps the recipient moved to 

a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address.  Check the 

address and try again.

Event 3009 from msexchangetransport will be logged in the event log with error code 0x80040955

With diagnostic logging for transport and dsaccess maximized events 2061,2389, 2115, 6006, and 6010 with error codes 80040955 and 80040920 may be recorded as well.

Resolution

Mismatched Network Card duplex setting between exchange server and local DC/GC's will cause random failures when categorizer does LDAP lookups in AD.
