Hardware events may be delayed or not logged at all on a Windows Server 2003-based computer that accesses BMC data

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

You access baseboard management controller (BMC) data by using the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider. When the number of events that are logged in the System log grows to a large number, the IPMI driver may stop logging hardware events on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer. Events may be delayed or not logged at all. The problem may be intermittent.
