Error message after you install the 817686 hotfix on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003: "Stop 0x0000000A"

Symptoms

After you install the 817686 hotfix on a multiprocessor computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the computer intermittently stops responding. When this problem occurs, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (00000000, 00000002, 00000001, 8081c402)
Note The "Stop" error occurs in the UsbhFdoCleanup process.

Cause

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • USB host controllers and root hubs have been removed from the computer.
  • A race condition exists between a USBH_ChangeIndication process thread and a UsbhFdoCleanup process thread.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Note This issue is not occurred in Windows Vista or even later OS versions
