You cannot view an InfoPath 2007 UDC file in a data connection library

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You create a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form template. The form template uses connection settings that are stored in a Universal Data Connection (UDC) file. You upload a data connection file to a data connection library. The data connection library is hosted on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services with Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007. The URL that you upload the file to resembles the following:
http://server/sites/sitecollection/dcl/forms/UDCName.udcx
If you visit the data connection library with a Web browser, the file that you just uploaded is not displayed. For example, the file is not displayed if you visit the following URL:
http://server/sites/sitecollection/dcl/Forms

Resolution

To view the file, you must type the full URL address to the file. For example, you must type the following to view the file:
http://server/sites/sitecollection/dcl/forms/UDCName.udcx
Note server is the name of the SharePoint Services server where you published the file.
