View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

The government of Egypt announced that the winter will start one week earlier for the year 2006. This is a special change only for the year 2006. The change handles the start of the holy month of Ramadan on September 22, 2006. Accordingly, this hotfix changes the start dates and the end dates for daylight saving time (DST) for the (GMT+02:00) Cairo time zone to the following values:
  • DST starts at 23:59:59 on the last Thursday of April.
  • DST ends at 23:59:59 on the third Thursday of September.
This hotfix makes this change by modifying the registry. This hotfix is available for computers that are running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
