Entity mappings between the custom entity and the contract entity do not work as expected in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:
  • You create a custom entity.
  • You create a relationship between the custom entity and the contract entity.
  • You create mappings between the two entities.
  • You create a contract from the custom entity instance by adding a related contract.
In this scenario, the mappings do not work as expected.

Resolution

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
