Microsoft Windows HTTP Services (WinHTTP) may not connect through the proxy server when you use proxy autoconfiguration in Microsoft Windows Server 2003

When you use proxy autoconfiguration for Internet Explorer connectivity in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows HTTP Services (WinHTTP) may not connect through the proxy server.

This problem occurs because WinHTTP does not read the location of the proxy autoconfiguration .pac file from the registry. The automatic configuration script file writes this location to the registry.
