You cannot use can the MSOLAP provider name to reference the Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider after you install or repair an Office 2003 program

Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services on the computer. Then, you install or repair one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section. In this scenario, you cannot use the MSOLAP provider name to reference the Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider.

This problem occurs because the Office 2003 Setup program installs the older PivotTable Service. This older PivotTable Service overwrites the version-independent ProgID attribute.

How to obtain the hotfix
