The value in the Due in column in a reminder may seem to be incorrect in Outlook 2007

Symptoms

When you set a reminder in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, the value in the Due in column in the reminder that appears may seem to be incorrect.

For example, this behavior may occur in the following situation:
You right-click a message in the Inbox, you point to Follow Up, and then you click Add Reminder.
You configure a reminder for 3:00 P.M. on the same day.
When the reminder appears at 3:00 P.M., the value in the Due in column is 2 hours. This value indicates that the item is due at 5:00 P.M.

Cause

This issue occurs because the date and the time at which you set the reminder to appear is configured separately from the date and the time at which the item is due. In the example in the "Symptoms" section, the due date is set to the same day. Therefore, the value in the Due in column in the reminder reflects the end of the workday. The end of the workday is determined by your work time that is set in the Calendar options. By default, the end of the workday is 5:00 P.M.

More information

If you want the Due in column in the reminder to reflect the same date and time as the reminder date and time, set the value in the Due date box to None when you configure the reminder.
