A GroupWise user does not receive an NDR message when a message that exceeds the configured size limit is not delivered to an Exchange Server 2003 user

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization, you configure the maximum value in the Global Settings in Exchange System Manager to restrict the size of messages that can be received. When a Novell GroupWise user sends a message that exceeds the configured size limit to an Exchange Server 2003 user, the message is not delivered to the intended recipient. However, Exchange Server 2003 does not send a non-delivery report (NDR) message to the sender. Therefore, the sender is not aware that the message was not delivered to the intended recipient.

Note You can configure the maximum size for incoming messages on the Defaults tab in Exchange System Manager. These settings are located in the Message Delivery container under Global Settings.
