Cause

This problem occurs if one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • Microsoft CRM and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services are installed on the same server.
  • The server is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003.
  • On the Specify Security Account page, the default setting is not selected. The domain user account is selected instead of the network service account.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Open Report Manager. To do this, visit the following Web site on the server that is running Microsoft CRM: Note If you renamed the folder that contains Report Manager when you installed Reporting Services, replace Reports with the name that you used.
  2. Click Show Details.
  3. Find the row for your organization. In the Edit column, click Properties of Organization.

Note Replace the Organization placeholder with the name of your organization.
  4. Click Security.
  5. Click New Role Assignment.
  6. In the Group or user name field, enter the service account name for Microsoft ASP.NET:
    • For English locales, the service account name is NT Authority\Network Service.
    • For other locales, follow these steps:
      1. In Notepad, open the Crm30svrsetup.log file.

Note The default location of this file is Drive:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs. Replace the Drive placeholder with the name of the drive where the user profiles are stored. Replace the User placeholder with the user name that was used to install CRM.
      2. Find the ServerInstallInfo.AspNetServiceAccountName line. The service account name is the value that appears on this line.
  7. Find the row for Publisher for Microsoft CRM. Click to select the Roles for New Role Assignment check box , and then click OK.
