Entries in a Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components PivotTable report may take longer to appear than you would expect

Symptoms

You open a Web page that contains a Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components PivotTable report. If the PivotTable report contains many records, the entries in the PivotTable report may take longer to appear than you would expect. Additionally, Office Web Components may not be able to open the PivotTable report.

Cause

This behavior occurs because Office Web Components expands each record that is included in the PivotTable report.

Note In earlier versions of Microsoft Office, Office Web Components does not expand each record that is included in a PivotTable report.

Workaround

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods:
To view the PivotTable report, open the Web page by using Microsoft Excel.
Use fewer records when you design the PivotTable report.
