The Information Store service stops responding when you use a CDO 1.21-based program that uses the SetLocaleIDs method to set the code page of a MAPI session in Exchange Server 2003 SP2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You use a Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) 1.21-based program to access items in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). This CDO 1.21-based program uses the SetLocaleIDs method to set the code page of a MAPI session. In this scenario, the CDO 1.21-based program fails. Additionally, the Information Store service stops responding. You may have to restart this service.

Hotfix information

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
