Filter criteria in the Owner field in a custom view are replaced by "Enter a value" after you upgrade from Microsoft CRM 1.2 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft CRM 1.2, you create a custom view that contains filter criteria in the Owner field. For example, you create a custom view for the Account entity that uses the following filter criterion:
Owner Equals CRMAdmin
You upgrade Microsoft CRM 1.2 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. If you then modify the filter criteria for the custom view, the contents of the Owner field are replaced by the following items:
  • Text that reads "Enter a value"
  • A yellow warning (!) symbol
Note The upgraded custom view is fully functional. You experience a problem only when you try to change the filter criteria for the custom view. You cannot determine the contents of the Owner field because all the potential owners are replaced by the message "Enter a value."
