Introduction

This article describes an update that removes the Energy Star emblem from the Screen Saver tab in the Display Properties dialog box in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and in Microsoft Windows XP. The Energy Star emblem may have to be removed from some systems to satisfy new United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.

Energy Star is a program that is administered by the EPA to reduce the amount of power that is used by personal computers and by peripherals. The Energy Star emblem does not represent EPA endorsement of any product or service.
