Microsoft CRM client for Outlook toolbar does not load if you open Outlook after you import a site map that you created in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Symptoms

If you open Microsoft Office Outlook after you import a site map that you created, the toolbar for the Microsoft CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook does not load in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. Additionally, events that resemble the following events are logged in the event log:

Cause

This problem occurs because the site map has a blank URL tag. The site map URL section may resemble one of the following examples:
<SubArea Id="test" Title ="test" />
Note This section is missing the URL tag.
<SubArea Id="test" Title ="test" Url = ""/>
Note This section has a blank URL tag.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, you must add a valid URL tag to the site map. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Edit the site map by adding a valid URL value to the <SubArea> tag that is missing the URL value.
2. Import the updated site map to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Settings, click Customization, and then click Import Customizations.
b. Click Browse, and then open the site map .xml file.
c. Click Upload, and then click Import All Customizations.
3.Open Outlook to verify the fix. Outlook will open the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Outlook.
