You cannot view printer properties for a network printer that is located on an AMD64-based computer that is running Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition

Symptoms

When you right-click a printer and then click Properties, you receive the following error message:
Printer properties cannot be displayed.
This symptom occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • You installed a network Point and Print printer on a client computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2003
    • Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) or earlier
    • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • The network Point and Print printer is directly connected to an AMD64-based computer.
  • The AMD64-based computer is running Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition.

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.

Windows Server 2003
