Nested Calculated Fields cannot be used with Great Plains Extender

NTRODUCTION

This article describes how you cannot use nested Calculated Fields in Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains - Extender.

You cannot create a Calculated Field type that uses another Calculated Field type.

For example, if you have created the following fields in an Extender window, you cannot use the Calculated Field type for Field 3, and then multiply Field 3 by Field 4 to create Field 5:

Field 1 is a Number field type
Field 2 is a Number field type.
Field 3 is a Calculated Field type that adds Field 1 and Field 2.
Field 4 is a Currency field type.

To create Field 5 as a Calculated Field, you have to specify the following:
(Field 1 + Field 2) * Field 4.
