FIX: The Business Rule Engine may not process rules that have different priorities when a server is under a heavy load in BizTalk Server 2004

Symptoms

When a server is under a heavy load, the Business Rule Engine may not process rules that have different priorities as expected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004.

For example, a rule that has a lower priority may run before a rule that has a higher priority when the following conditions are true:
  • You test a policy in the Business Rule Composer.
  • The input file has approximately 3,000 or more records.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
