Hotfix information

Registry information
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry
incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems
might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own

You must create a registry subkey or modify a registry subkey to enable this hotfix. To do this, follow these steps.
Note This hotfix was released together with security
update 896688. If security update 896688 is installed, you do not have to
create the registry subkey to enable this hotfix.
- Click Start, click Run,
type regedit, and then click
OK.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click Key.
- Type
FEATURE_NO_ONBEFOREUNLOAD_EVENT_KB905498, and then press
ENTER.
- Click
FEATURE_NO_ONBEFOREUNLOAD_EVENT_KB905498.
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type iexplore.exe, and then press
ENTER.
- Click iexplore.exe.
- On the Edit menu, click
Modify.
- Type 00000001, and then click
OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
