Event ID 9555 is logged without cause in Exchange Server

Symptoms

When you try to recover a deleted public folder by using the Recover Deleted Items command in Microsoft Outlook, the following event may be logged in the Application log in a Microsoft Exchange Server organization:

Event ID : 9555
Category : General
Source : MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
Type : Error
Computer : Server_Name
Description : Corrupt Message detected during MoveMailbox. Fid = 2-110F8073 ; Mid = 1-A8DDE38 ;
Some or all properties of this message will not be moved correctly.

The message in the event is misleading because the message refers to a move mailbox operation that you did not perform.

Workaround

You can safely ignore event ID 9555. There are no adverse effects that are associated with this event being logged.
