An access violation may occur when you try to run a 64-bit program that uses the interface remoting component of MDAC 2.8 on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, when you try to run a 64-bit program that uses the interface remoting component of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8, an access violation may occur. When you use Task Manager to view the Dllhost.exe process, you see that this process uses 100 percent of the computer's CPU resources.

To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed.

Note You do not have to install Windows Server 2003 SP1 if the computer is running an x64-based version of Windows Server 2003. These versions already include this service pack.
