FIX: The Aspnet_wp.exe worker process restarts before the value of the IdleTimeout property is reached in ASP.NET 1.1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft ASP.NET 1.1, you set the Aspnet_wp.exe worker process IdleTimeout property to the infinite value. The Aspnet_wp.exe worker process restarts before the value of the IdleTimeout property is reached. When this problem occurs, the following event is logged in the application event log:

Cause

This problem occurs because of a threading issue that occurs with the Timer class.

Resolution

Hotfix information
