Symptoms

If the IBM kernel driver (Shutvol.sys) is installed in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the cluster group of Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) may not fail over. Additionally, disk I/O operations may not be completed.

The Shutvol.sys driver is not implemented as a filter driver. The Shutvol.sys driver does not appear on the stack of I/O request packets (IRP) or on the device stack.
