More information

ADAM SP1 is available for use on Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based systems that do not have the Windows Server 2003 R2 release installed. ADAM is included in the Windows Server 2003 R2 release package and can be installed from the Optional Component Manager. If you install ADAM from Windows Server 2003 R2, you do not have to apply ADAM SP1. This service pack includes the following enhancements that were made to ADAM in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 release:
  • Lets ADAM users bind to an ADAM instance by using Digest authentication.
  • Enables password chaining to Active Directory users through ADAM proxy objects.
  • Includes a newer version of the LDP utility.

Note This newer version includes a graphical user interface (GUI) that lets you grant access to directory objects by manipulating access control lists.
  • Includes the Active Directory Schema Analyzer tool.
  • Includes the Active Directory to ADAM Synchronizer tool.
  • Lets you create users in the configuration partition. ADAM users can now be ADAM administrators.
For more information about ADAM SP1, see the ADAM Help file after you install SP1.
